An Income of Her Own™ is a program designed to teach young women in grades 10 through 12 learn entrepreneurial and business leadership skills. Economic empowerment is critical to addressing the needs of young women today. According to Independent Means, Inc., of the 75 percent of women who work at paid jobs, 40 percent of them earn wages below the poverty level. Also, women hold 2/3 of all minimum wage jobs.
“Partnering with An Income of Her Own™ is a great way to encourage young girls to be financially independent,” said Olsen, developer of MyStrategicPlan, a strategic planning system that develops, manages and executes strategic plans. “As a woman entrepreneur myself, I feel like this opportunity will allow young women to understand that they can make their own income.” Each book sold pays for a girl’s registration to An Income of Her Own™.
